What will glee do next season

From Season 3 on, the character was drawn to becoming a film director and had his first opportunity to direct in West Side Story. Although his dream was mentioned on and off during episodes, we never had the chance to see him win an Academy Award or work on a film set. Just like Rachel had the opportunity of getting a Tony, so should Artie get the recognition he deserves. Like Artie, Tina Jenna Ushkowitz was also in the series from the beginning.

Yet, her personality only went downhill after half of the original Glee Club members graduated in Season 3. Tina barely had any opportunities to sing, let alone have a whole song to herself.

When the search to find the new Rachel began, she once again got tossed aside. That was the Tina viewers were dying to witness, but never had the chance to see again. The truth is, Tina, out of the blue, fell for Blaine, became the unfortunate reincarnation of Carrie when announced prom queen, and her ending saw her getting together with Artie.

It was unfair to see her potential led astray for 6 seasons and no proper ending to make up for the faults. In the beginning, Quinn was the mean cheerleader who dated the quarterback. Then, she became one of the few examples of teenage pregnancy on-screen and had to embrace the outcast reality. Yet, after going through all the humiliation, she went back to her shallow self in Season 2 with rare moments of redemption.

It seemed like Quinn was purposefully written to move two steps forward, three steps back all the way to the end of the show. The last we saw of her was as a mature and responsible woman in the beginning of Season 6 and then she was completely forgotten by the finale. Glee was an instant hit when it premiered; the critics gave it generally positive reviews, but the public immediately got hooked on the series with over 10 million viewers tuning in when it debuted.

Aside from the plethora of characters — each one presented in a relatable way, not to mention the high school drama that has always been a popular narrative trope, the series' choice of music also played a big part in its success. Songs covered in Glee were released officially. In the end, the show also racked up more than 36 million digital single sales coupled with 11 million albums sold around the globe.

The series ultimately wasn't able to sustain people's interest, but that's not the only reason why Fox wrapped up Glee after six seasons as there are a couple of other factors that contributed to the show ending.

After two years of massive popularity, Glee 's ratings dropped significantly in season 3 — with the series reportedly losing nearly a quarter of its viewers. That trend continued for the next few years with the show unable to recapture the public's curiosity after its first couple of seasons. This steady decline can be chalked up to a few reasons. Firstly, the show started limiting guest star appearances - like Britney Spears' cameo - which had previously boosted people's interest in the series as each high profile celebrity was guaranteed a performance — something that piqued the interest of casual fans who may not be familiar with these artists' ability to carry a tune or dance.
