Where is ahmed johnson
Ahmed Johnson was at the top of the list of names McMahon felt he could make into his stars of the future. The physique and size of Johnson made him the more prototypical WWE superstar than Hart or Michaels, but he clearly needed to make up a lot of ground to reach that level. Ahmed received a huge push with the intent of improving his promos and matches. The weaknesses of Johnson were glaring to his peers, but fans reacted well to him.
A huge moment in his career came when winning the Intercontinental Championship from Goldust. Johnson was the first black man to hold that title and it was viewed as the biggest stepping-stone at the time for wrestlers WWE wanted in the main event sooner than later. The idea was that fans would view Ahmed as an equal to the biggest face in the entire company.
The Nation turned on him after he recovered and returned in August , which resulted in Johnson turning face once more. He restarted his feud with the Nation, and would reunite with the Legion of Doom as well as join forces with Ken Shamrock during the feud.
He gained a massive amount of weight at this time, and was aptly named. He attacked Booker, causing Ray to be disqualified. Big T and Stevie formed the tag team Harlem Heat At Spring Stampede, they participated in a 5-team tag team tournament for the vacant World Tag Team Championship, where they lost to the eventual winners Shane Douglas and Buff Bagwell in the semi-finals of the tournament.
He was released by WCW shortly afterwards due to ongoing weight issues. Norris stayed away from wrestling after his release from WCW until he wrestled his return match for Professional Championship Wrestling in against Jake Steele. He wrestled his final match in in a tag team match for Maximum Pro Wrestling , teaming with Monty Brown in a losing effort against Sabu and Gangrel. He endured a harsh childhood, where his father abused his mother regularly and abused him if he intervened.
He stated that he fully understands that he will not be offered a legends deal or an action figure deal as a result of his decision to speak out, but he doesn't care. Norris also noted, for those who have accused him of racism, that he has been married to a Caucasian woman for over 20 years.
I couldn't walk from the ring to the apron without huffing in Puffing. He said the only reason he took the WCW job was because his friend Stevie Ray, who he grew up with, asked him to come in and tag with him, and he felt obligated to help his friend. He said WCW was right for not giving him a belt because he was so fat and out of shape. For myself, this was the point where I was really becoming a huge Ahmed Johnson fan, at the time.
Michaels was pinned by Vader to setup their SummerSlam match. Ahmed would be out for the rest of the year recovering from the injury, but it was clear through interviews that he was going to get revenge on Faarooq. Ahmed would make his triumphant return at the Royal Rumble where he would get his hands on Faarooq. Johnson got some level of revenge managing to win by disqualification.
This would be the beginning of a lengthy year where Ahmed continually feuded with Faarooq and the Nation of Domination. Following the event, Ahmed would attempt to disband the group at the May In Your House, but was unsuccessful.
Ahmed managed to qualify for the King of the Ring, but would fail to advance past the quarterfinals. Ahmed was scheduled to fight Taker at Canadian Stampede in July, but was replaced by Vader due to injuries. Ahmed would miss nearly two months of action before returning.
Ahmed returned on the August 4th edition of RAW winning a singles match against Chainz, but was promptly attacked by the Nation for reasons that were unknown.
