Why does god abandon us
Why else would He pursue us in our worst shape, and accept us just as we are—loving us so much that He would send His Son to die for us? We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him, Romans , MSG.
All I can do is point to the cross where Jesus, His own Son, died willingly for the whole world John Would someone who loves like that, then turn around and abandon the very ones He died for? Even as His children when we mess up, He is ready to forgive and love us back to Him 1 John It is being tested as fire tests gold and purifies it—and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold; so if your faith remains strong after being tried in the test tube of fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day of his return 1 Peter And like a potter, He plans to keep shaping you to make you more like Him.
He wants to bring good out of everything that happens to us Romans We live in a fallen world. We can read the newspaper, listen to the news, and even experience life trauma ourselves, and at times feel like God has gone AWOL.
One day He will restore everything to a new heaven and new earth, we will be whole, and all our unanswered questions will either be answered or unnecessary. It is easy to turn from God after someone has wounded our hearts. It is easy to fill our lives with nice, shiny things to distract us from the loneliness and pain. What we do not realize is the danger lurking around the corner.
God spoke more about money than He did about heaven, hell, sex, marriage, and love. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Money can be dangerous. We are to be stewards of the income God gives us because He is the One who opens doors for jobs, raises, and promotions. We honor God by ensuring every penny given to us is accounted for and spent, saved, and tithed wisely.
I belong to Him. Christ is in me. I have found suffering to be the worst thing and the best thing. It is the opportunity for us to realize that we are nothing without God. I implore you to pray and ask God for wisdom for your circumstances.
He will guide you one step at a time down the right path to healing. It may mean a lot of changes in the way you are doing things. Self-control in what you eat, how you are managing your body, what you are thinking, what you are reading and listening to on a daily basis, and addressing habits that are not healthy. Addictions, self-pity, unforgiveness, self-hatred, and lies that you believe about yourself. This is the journey I took and am still taking. And it is working. I have experienced a lot of healing.
And continue to as the days go by. Be willing to let God work in your life and change your behavior. I am praying for you now. God can change your circumstances if you bow down to Him and submit to what His plan is for your life. He has a good plan, and He is good. The ball is now in your court. My heart is with you and I am rooting for you. I was feeling like God has abandoned me when I came across your post.
I realized that all I need is His mercies and graces to take me through those challenges. He is the God who is true to His word. Lucy, I am so sorry about all of your trials. I know this is a very difficult time for you. Sometimes it is a day-by-day, minute-by-minute choice to trust God when it looks bad. I have found that sometimes God closes one door, and it turns out to be a good thing in the end. It is not easy to allow him to prune and cut things out of our lives. But overall, I am glad he does it even though it hurts.
I pray He provides for you in ways you never imagine. I feel abandoned, life has been horrible ever since i had my kids. Always struggling always messing up. I am Destroyed and still nothing. At least i was able to do doordash but my axle cracked today!
Hurricane tomorrow i just cant im sitting in my car crying my eyes out. My daughter has been stealing and she is only 12 the devil is also attacking my son. I cannot take anymore. Elle, I am so sorry for everything you are going through. I am praying for you right now. Running to Him is the best thing you can do. He hears our cries and provides others to help us along the way if we ask.
If you can find a church nearby that can help, I bet they would. There are people who want to help you get back on your feet. Possibly family can help? The best thing you can do is set a good example for your kids. Be that godly person and pray for them daily. Set healthy boundaries with them. And giving consequences for bad behavior. My heart breaks for you and I pray for you to find the help you need. I am broken. I am alone. I have spent most of my life helping others, loving others yet no one every looks out for me.
I have been drawing near God. Praying and repenting and seeking to have a deeper relationship with him. Does he really love me? FJ, yes, God absolutely loves you. When we go through times of suffering it feels like God has abandoned us. I so understand this, more than you know. That is a lie from the deciever. Satan is the accuser. We are loved, He has a good plan, we can trust Him in the darkness, we are not alone, count it all joy when trials hit us, God is never going to leave or forsake us, my God is mighty, He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
I encourage you to stand on the truth even when what you see looks horrible. Many times I have trusted my feelings, and they are fickle. Choose logically to believe Him and push those fearful feelings down. Give them to God. Cry out to HIm. Fast, pray, and seek Him. Beg Him for answers. Continue in prayer day and night in your heart to talk to God and tell Him you trust Him.
Pray for a breakthrough. God hears our cries and He answers. The ones that God answers are the ones that feel compelled to write these types of articles. I too once was upbeat and positive and trusting for over 25 years I prayed and begged and pleaded for a family. I ended up still alone, sick, and more miserable by the day. False hope is what posts like this promote.
For some it never gets better. Anna, first of all, I am so sorry. I can hear the incredible hurt in your words. I can so relate to you. I once felt this way too. There is no way around it. Life is hard and many times cruel. It is easy to blame God. I get it all too well. I prayed and begged God to change my family situation and my health.
In fact, they were going to take my colon out and replace it with a bag. Paul preached that the very boundaries of a nation were predetermined by God, including the space they would occupy on the timeline of human history Acts Instead of pinning all our hopes, as earthly citizens, on political leaders, we can trust in God, knowing that He controls the ultimate state of our union.
And with our trust in His sovereign will, we can focus our lives, and the mission of the church, back where it belongs — proclaiming the gospel to our nation that desperately needs to hear it, believe it, and live it.
If anyone in biblical history could have advocated for overthrowing their government, it was the apostle Paul. Living during the reign of the Emperor Nero, the church had zero representation in the Roman government, and experienced severe persecution at the order of Nero. Across the empire, the church had no legal protection or governmental support. Rather than start a revolution or train believers in civil disobedience, Paul wrote a letter to the church with a very different tone. In this simple yet profound verse, we can uncover godly wisdom concerning the proper relationship between church and government.
The believer is not called to promote or undermine the authority God has instituted. Whether we like our civil authorities or not, we understand that God actually raised them up to fulfill His divine purposes for the world — which we may not see fulfilled in our lifetime!
A moral government or nation is not necessary to have a thriving church. At the time Paul wrote this letter to Rome, pedophilia, adultery and idolatry were commonplace.
