What is the general back story of the song? Can you elaborate on what was going on at the time? I was going to try and finish it while we were tracking everything else. We were stoked on that because we were recording our first record. Eron had a couple lines written here and there. There were a couple of tense moments in the studio because this was our first time away from home, away from our friends and family [and] our girlfriends.

It was the first time [for us] to try and find our place in the traveling scene of music. We were trying to find out how to record at a real recording studio. The song was about tension amongst us and specifically about conversations I was having about how hard this can be. This was just the first six week scheduled recording session. We had no idea anything would come of it. Here we are today. You said it started as an instrumental. Were there particular riffs or sections that brought the song together or inspired you?

It's also explaining that she drags these things out. I'll wait for you, but I can't wait forever. She's explaining that she won't just wait forever for him to come back. Yes, Hawthorne Heights is from Ohio. But the song is about more than that. I think it's about a love interest, to be honest. Yes, this could include family, but the next part of the song is passionately violent, so it seems to speak more of a love story. So while he keeps saying he doesn't need this person anymore, or it's not the controlling factor in his life, his heart screams otherwise.

While he keeps saying he can't stand this person or they don't matter, he keeps coming back for more, because he needs them in his life. The song is about a boy who confesses his undying love to a flower, and then it pokes him in the eye and becomes black. Here I am. So he cuts himself and some cool stuff. Who cares? Emmett face. Why does every single song have to be turned into an "emo" song? Emo's just a genre- it's just about being yourself.

And if everyones getting so worked up about it then youre obviously not calling yourselves unique because that's what emo really is about'.

This song, to me, is about how if you miss someone so much and love them so much you feel guilty about leaving them so, in this case the people turn to cutting. This is probly no where near the real point but this is what I think so yea.

Because that's why I cut is from guilt and various other things. If you want to e-mail me your input on my point of view my myspace is myspace. I read on Wikipedia that all the guys were fighting with their girlfriends while on tour and this song was because they still loved their girlfriends.

It's Hawthorne Heights. Second, there's nothing wrong with being emo man. They don't cut themselves. Not all emo's have perfect lives and complain about everything.

God doesn't anyone look in the CD case?
