Why no krausen




















Leave them in primary for weeks, check the gravity, and bottle. Now I'm wishing I would have tasted it! Thanks for the help and advice!

I'll feel much more comfortable on the next batch. Lessons I Learned: o Take Gravity readings during transfers o Don't rack to secondary till done fermenting in primary o Sediment good o No krausen can be alright so long as it DID ferment o Taste, taste, taste Any tips or advance for the secondary or the bottling stages are welcome. Dan Pratt Well-Known Member. From the sound of what you have posted, fermentation occurred but you didn't get to see it. Gravity readings will tell you if fermentation actually happened.
