Why golson left notre dame

The question is if Golson should be welcomed back to Notre Dame at all after transferring to Florida State. Should Notre Dame have its arms open for a player that left the school? Why would the school not want him to participate? Golson is a graduate of Notre Dame and being a graduate of the school should always allow you the same privileges as any other graduate.

What if this was a guy like Alex Welch or Andrew Hendrix or any other 5th year transfer Notre Dame has sent off over the years? Would the objections be the same, despite not coming even close to having the same amount of impact while at Notre Dame?
